The Sod Buster Inn is located in the Historic Monroe Corridor on the original
homestead of one of Greeley’s earlier settlers, George W. Currier. Located just blocks from downtown Greeley and the
University of Northern Colorado, the unique octagonal, three-story inn was built in 1997 with all the classic country
charm of its historic surroundings but with the modern conveniences expected by the discriminating traveler. The Inn
was warmly and enthusiastically received by members of the Monroe organization as a piece of architecture that blends
in beautifully with the existing historic homes of the neighborhood.
Walk out the front door of the Inn and turn left and
you are within walking distance to the downtown Greeley business and shopping district. An
antique emporium, art galleries, home furnishings shop, boutiques, bakeries, brew pubs, dining
and entertainment are all just minutes away.
|
If you turn right, you could walk just one block to the Nathan Meeker Historic Museum.
Two more blocks in this direction would take you directly to the University of Northern
Colorado campus and an assortment of shopping and dining opportunities, not to mention
enjoying the beauty of the campus and its many architecturally interesting buildings. |
You can be in beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park in just 50 minutes. Take some time and enjoy the breath-taking journey through the Big Thompson Canyon
on your way to the Park. As another scenic option, you might visit the Pawnee National Grasslands.
|
Two to three hours drive time will have you in major ski areas or in a historic mining
district where you can enjoy limited stakes gambling casinos.
Greeley hosts a number of annual events ranging from jazz festivals, arts picnics and
farm shows to the Greeley Independence Stampede Rodeo. Greeley's Union Colony Civic Performing
Arts Center has ongoing theater and entertainment options. Your hosts will be happy to
